The Animal Welfare Blogger Challenge

We are friends with a very cool fur buddy named Rumpydog and He has issued a challenge called The Animal Welfare Blogger Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge is to get you to think about the things that you do daily that negatively impact animal welfare.

You can read about Rumpydog’s Challenge here ——-> http://rumpydog.com/2013/01/27/the-animal-welfare-blogger-challenge/

So now we have our thinking caps on and you know when you read Rumpydog’s post and realize the things we have bought in a pet store and how the directly impact animals negatively it makes us go WHOA! No THANK YOU!

Mama has been using natural alternatives versus going to the veterinarian and getting medicine that has chemicals in it. She has been going back to “our roots” OOO a PUN! Anyhoo, after talking to the proper people who treat animals with natural remedies, mama is using products like Slippery Elm and Aloe Juice (non flavored) for issues with our tummies and intestines. She is now reading up on Tumeric and how it impacts our health positively. She has removed us from eating kibble (YUCK) because she says that it triples our output for one thing. The binding agents are nasty, and not only that, so many of those kibble based foods are continually being recalled.

We eat raw meat that has been grown organically and free of GMO’s.  Mama doesn’t want us to be eating stuff that could be recalled at any time. Same goes for treats, she will often make our treats with her dehydrator.

Many products are being recalled. In January, 2013, an article was posted warning pet owners about dog treats being recalled http://www.causes.com/actions/1724691-warning-for-pet-owners-dog-treats-being-recalled.

Mama will not participate in buying products that are not made in our country for one thing and two to send a request to a company who makes the product in a country where laws are not accepted and followed.

Thank you Rumpydog for running this Blog Hop, we look forward to reading and learning many wonderful things!

  1. This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a
reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to
start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great
job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.

    Too cool!
