I have been finding other ways to help the rescue community after my recent set back with an organization who I once trusted, only to learn they abused their privileges in ways that make good rescues struggle to keep their good name.
I’ve been hosting fundraising events for a couple of animals. One is a Yellow Lab named Zeus; the other is Ella a cat.
This is ZEUS a 2 year old, Yellow Labrador
ZEUS is set for surgery tomorrow for what is called a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for Treatment of Ruptured Cranial Cruciate Ligament – See more at: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-zeus-run-again/96905#sthash.aRLe2nwV.dpuf
I decided I wanted to help this sweet boy and put together a Facebook page for him called “Zeus the Yellow Lab” https://www.facebook.com/pages/ZEUS-the-Yellow-Lab/563807007002189?ref=hl and he has a YouCaring Page, where people can donate to. At present we are very very close to reaching his goal of $2,500. We need about $400 and his surgery is for Monday, November 18, 2013!
People commend me, say very nice things to me but I just feel that all animals deserve a chance and that is quite simply why I do what I have been doing.
Miss Ella is a very sweet 2 year old Birman/Ragdoll cross cat. She is very petite in size and stature. She is my cat and her veterinary costs in a very quick period of time have come close to $950.00. We have managed to raise $604 and have about $340ish to go. The illness they have thought she had/has is either she passed a kidney stone/crystal (her kidney enzymes were very high), her white blood cell count has been very high, indicating an infection and she ended up staying 3 nights with our veterinarian’s office. Feline Leukemia and AIDS have been spoken about, but they have not done the testing for that at this point, they have wanted to attack her infection and go from there.
To read more on Ella you can go to her FB page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/All-things-Princess-Ella-A-cats-life/180768685448702 and if you wish to donate to her veterinary expenses you can do so at http://www.gofundme.com/558d3o
Ella, like ZEUS are both rescues, both have had hard starts in life, but both are resilient with determination and spunk, these furry babies really do know what it takes to be determined to have a good life. 🙂
As some of you have seen on my wall, I have been working towards helping a beautiful 2 year old Yellow Labrador whose name is ZEUS. ZEUS needs to have ACL Surgery for both knees, but we are fundraising for one knee at this time. ZEUS must have medication every day in order to live with as minimal pain as possible.
To read more on ZEUS, check out his fan page https://www.facebook.com/pages/ZEUS-the-Yellow-Lab/563807007002189
We need to raise funds so ZEUS can have this much needed surgery. Without it, his life will not be one of enjoyment, which he deserves. Please donate, please share. Thank you.
Well, now that our fur brofers and sistas are adjusting to their new homes, we at Wags and Wiggles, thought we should redirect our energy and clean up the place.
As you can see we first started by changing our skin. With Halloween days away, we thought it would be fun, to have something ghoulish. Next, we have been promoting our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wags-and-Wiggles/355170354499566, For those who are new and haven’t heard or seen our page, please click the link and see what we have been up to. We have been climbing with our “likes” we are almost at 800!! We are really hoping to get there soon, so if you could click the “like” button that would be so happy. We would do lots of wiggle bum dancing for you too!
We have also decided to work towards helping our senior fur friends. See there are many senior furries that don’t get to enjoy their lives to the fullest, just as our special needs furry friends don’t either. Far too often they are discarded to a shelter where it is likely no one will adopt them. We don’t feel that way. Our Facebook page and our Blog are dedicated to the memory of our Fur Daddy Rizzo. Rizzo passed away 2 years ago December 14 at the age of 11 1/2 years old. Mommy and Daddy stood by him as he fought so hard to enjoy his final days with us. He eventually succumbed to brain cancer.
See senior’s have a lot to teach us as do our special needs fur friends too. We have learned so much from them, that words can’t even be put together to describe how valuable they are to us.
Be sure to check back often as we post about all sorts of things.
Next topic: With winter coming on do you dress your pet in pet jackets or booties? How does your pet like them?
Hi, Momma here. Today I thought I would do a blog to thank the 328 followers we have on our Facebook Page Wags and Wiggles https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wags-and-Wiggles. It is our goal to spread the word to as many animal lovers out there, that adopting an animal in need of a loving, caring home helps not just the person looking for that loving pet, it also helps rescue organizations save as many dogs from being euthanized every day!!!
Shelters need support to. You can help by volunteering, promoting, donating food, bedding, toys, and if you want to donate money, there are specific ways to do so. Volunteering allows you to go in and spend time with all the animals wanting walks and love. To cuddles and snuggles. I’ve volunteered at a shelter and see the love a dog has for anyone who is wanting to take them for a walk, spend some much needed time with them is so rewarding it can make your heart sing.
We also promote food and treat recalls. I think this goes without saying as to the reasons why. I feed raw to my pack, and will from time to time share tips and tricks that have worked well for my dogs and cats.
I know that it takes a lot of work for people who have pages on Facebook. We all have a common goal and that is to educate and share as much love as we possibly can.
I know that I don’t work my page everyday as some do. I get stuck on what to share because so many of us share identical bits of information and not to mention if you share too much, Facebook sends you warnings and I know some pages have been temporarily blocked for days!
We welcome your tips and suggestions on ways to increase our “likes” on our Facebook page, as we also welcome your successes on what you all have done to promote and educate the value in adopting and not shopping. To not supporting puppy mills, to the value in spaying and neutering
So thank you so much to those that have already liked us and shared us! Without you, we would be able to get the word out!!
First off, it is gorgeous and sunny out! Feels pretty good after days of rain.
Second, ROCKY is home and he is safe! He was found several kilometers from where he escaped! He was found this morning! Woot Woot!!
Third Gail Benoit has been CHARGED! Some of you may recall (me) mama posting links about this woman who has been abusing animals, has been charged with prior felonies. Well here is the BEST news today!
**BREAKING** Just confirmed with Bridgewater police that Ms. Gail Benoit of Waverly has been charged with : Fraud, Theft and Impersonation – She will be appearing in Bridgewater Court on May 8th to be arraigned. Her charges are theft under $5000 and identify theft in case of stolen dogs that were bought in Bridgewater. Bridgewater is in Nova, Scotia.

If I could make my way to Nova Scotia for a May 8th trial date, I would so be there. This woman needs more than just a slap on the wrist! She has been able to get away with this for far too long.

Remember Adopt don’t Shop!! There are so many animals who are wanting caring and loving homes, that by sharing all that is out there, we can save as many as we can from being killed.
