Fundraising for your cause is very hard work. Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t. I’ve had to extend Tika’s medical fundraiser because her cause has come to a standstill. I am at a loss as to what to do. All I know is she is worth fighting for, she is a senior, but she has an incredible liveliness about her when she doesn’t feel miserable.
I don’t like asking for donations, I, like many pet owners want to protect and raise our loved ones on our own. I see the causes out there, I realize Tika is no different than anyone else, yet how do I give in and say “sorry sweetheart, mommy failed?”
She came from a life that was not kind to her, then she was loved for many years, when her time was no longer with that person, I became blessed to have her in my life. She deserves the best, she deserves the ability to eat any and all foods presented to her, not restrictions to soft foods. She has troubles with bones, she has troubles with any treats and she has trouble with dried meat treats (I dry liver for her as a treat).
I’ve given an extension, I’ve explained who and why I’m doing this fundraiser. All I ask is you find it within yourself to donate and share her cause.
Thank you so much.
I have followed this woman for about 2 years now. No not in a stalking way, she posted a page on her Jack Russell Sparky and as I have 3 Jack Russell Terriers, I was instantly hooked. I however had no idea of the horrific dog biting and trauma that Sparky endured and survived. To read more about Sparky and his page
Gradually her page continued to grow in likes and comments. She has endured many negative comments, trolls and spammers. Yet, for her all she has wanted to do is to help animals. Well its time to give back (in my opinion).
Nessa has created what we call a Ribbon Tree in her home town of Ireland. Those that wanted to have a ribbon hung in the memory of their pet, just wrote your pet’s name down on Sparky’s wall and now I have a few hung in memory of my pets who have passed on to the bridge. She has created tokens, and shirts at times for fundraising events.
A You Caring page created by Friends of Sparky recently to help raise funds to cover vet expenses as well as day to day expenses as Nessa is going to be recovering for quite sometime.
Its important to give back to your community and in a situation like this, is there any better time?

For those that have asked, 2nd opinion inquiries have been done. Some as far as 45 minutes to an hour away. Thank you for your suggestions and tips to help Tika. In the meantime we still need to continue our fundraising to help her get her dental surgery. So I ask of you to donate and if you can’t please share, I’m not giving up on her.

Seems Monday morning brings us a couple of glitches. BUT We have fixed the link and Tika’s fundraising page is back up and running! We will keep looking into why the photo of her isn’t showing up with her link. Please share and ask if every person donated $1.00 how quickly we could raise funds for Tika. Thank you!
I’m not sure what it will take to show people that Tika, an 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua, with eyes and snow white fur that make me see a beautiful seal pup :), really needs help. Our last fundraiser didn’t raise much, but because she is who she is, I won’t let her down.
I have done some researching on ways to run a better fundraiser campaign and to be honest I can’t let her down. I advocate for animal welfare, how could I not do the same for her?

Tika’s Teeth 1 and 2 photos
Thank you all so much for your support! xo
Tika is an 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua who originally started out on the streets of California. She has had a rough life that found her way to a loving home for several years until her owner could no longer keep her.
In September 2013 Tika’s physical revealed poor dental that at some point would need attending to. Here is Tika’s fundraising page http://igg.me/p/679340/x/5566332 I am on Disability and I do not have the funds for the surgery she needs. I know people often say don’t have a pet if you can’t pay for it. But I do help in the Rescue Community and Volunteer often. Tika has become a vital part of my family and we have learned that her previous owner has passed on. I made a promise to her that Tika’s well being would always be taken care of.
- Tika needs about $1,200 to cover the high side of her surgery costs. It is expected she will have more than one extraction. Being a senior dog, she may take longer in recovery.
- If the her goal is not reached, what portion is reached will go towards her bill.
Giving Tika this surgery will help her to be free of pain and discomfort . Your donations will make a substantial difference to her quality of life.
- Our fundraising is valuable as I want to share how seniors are valuable members of our society, regardless of how they come to be in your care. Rescue, Adoption and Donating is so very important.
- Tika’s fur friend had a similar fundraiser with wonderful success. http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/let…
If you can’t contribute, all I ask is you
- share Tika’s campaign and keep on sharing!
We thank each and every one of you for your support and donations!
Meh Mummy has been volunteering with @Safe at Last Dog Rescue Society and has been helping with fundraising for a gorgeous (ok so he is, but not as cute as moi, Blaze *giggle*) Golden Labrador named ZEUS. We want to share a message from ZEUS and His Team:
From everyone on the ZEUS TEAM and ZEUS’ foster family, we wanted to wish you all a Pawsitively Wonderful safe and happy Pawlidays
We have set up phase 2 of ZEUS’ fundraising now and donations have started to appear. Just a quick side note, on the
the site doesn’t allow for a second fundraiser for the same cause, so the $2,500 raised is from the first fundraiser. The $3,000 is the total needed for the second one that we have begun. The cartrophen injections are higher in cost than before, and ZEUS needs 4 of them at $50.00 a round, it all adds up.
As well we are looking for blankets, bedding, and all things safe and warm for those in need. If you have anything you want to donate please contact @Marion a Safe At Last Dog Rescue Society
oh and moi, Blaze! I got to see Santa too!!
