When do you worry about your pet?
Blaze, my 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier, has been vomiting off and on since 730pm last night and since then the longest he has been quiet is 4 hours and this morning he has vomited 3 more times but has been quiet for about an hour.
We are very strict with what our pets eat, so naturally when our pets become sick it is normal to be concerned. I have been keeping notes on what he has been throwing up, how often and times. Blaze has thrown up bile and now we are hopeful with Blaze now sleeping, he is healing.
He is off food today til I can get this sorted out.
Get Well Blaze!
I have been finding other ways to help the rescue community after my recent set back with an organization who I once trusted, only to learn they abused their privileges in ways that make good rescues struggle to keep their good name.
I’ve been hosting fundraising events for a couple of animals. One is a Yellow Lab named Zeus; the other is Ella a cat.
This is ZEUS a 2 year old, Yellow Labrador
ZEUS is set for surgery tomorrow for what is called a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for Treatment of Ruptured Cranial Cruciate Ligament – See more at: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-zeus-run-again/96905#sthash.aRLe2nwV.dpuf
I decided I wanted to help this sweet boy and put together a Facebook page for him called “Zeus the Yellow Lab” https://www.facebook.com/pages/ZEUS-the-Yellow-Lab/563807007002189?ref=hl and he has a YouCaring Page, where people can donate to. At present we are very very close to reaching his goal of $2,500. We need about $400 and his surgery is for Monday, November 18, 2013!
People commend me, say very nice things to me but I just feel that all animals deserve a chance and that is quite simply why I do what I have been doing.
Miss Ella is a very sweet 2 year old Birman/Ragdoll cross cat. She is very petite in size and stature. She is my cat and her veterinary costs in a very quick period of time have come close to $950.00. We have managed to raise $604 and have about $340ish to go. The illness they have thought she had/has is either she passed a kidney stone/crystal (her kidney enzymes were very high), her white blood cell count has been very high, indicating an infection and she ended up staying 3 nights with our veterinarian’s office. Feline Leukemia and AIDS have been spoken about, but they have not done the testing for that at this point, they have wanted to attack her infection and go from there.
To read more on Ella you can go to her FB page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/All-things-Princess-Ella-A-cats-life/180768685448702 and if you wish to donate to her veterinary expenses you can do so at http://www.gofundme.com/558d3o
Ella, like ZEUS are both rescues, both have had hard starts in life, but both are resilient with determination and spunk, these furry babies really do know what it takes to be determined to have a good life. 🙂
This afternoon, very soon actually, Ella and I (mom) will be going back to the clinic to see how she is doing. Today she has been really clingy and when not doing that, she can be found sleeping somewhere quiet. She still isn’t eating her `1/4 can per meal x3 a day. She is eating barely 1/8th, yesterday we had to force feed her and hold her mouth to get more calories into her. We did catch her eating dry food last night and will upload a photo shortly.
Ella’s costs are reaching close to $1,000.00. A very good friend who does rescue work for cats, discussed with me about doing a fundraiser and below is the information for that fundraiser. We want to thank everyone for the kind and loving gestures and contributions in helping to keep Ella’s veterinary bill up to date. We aren’t sure how long this will go on for her, but we plan on, as we have been all along, in keeping everyone updated on her Facebook page and on her GoFund page.
We are running a fundraiser to help with Ella’s rising veterinary bill. We are heading back shortly for her follow up blood draw and recheck. Everything about Ella can be found on her FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/All-things-Princess-Ella-A-cats-life/180768685448702
There is an event page called $1 Challenge for Ella https://www.facebook.com/events/361518303993938/ where all you need do is donate just $1.00 and ask 2 friends to do the same.
Thank you to everyone who has helped so much with this. I am very very grateful for such a loving and caring community. Thank you ~
Its Caturday and usually I spend it with my fur family and my humans. Today is very different. Hi, my name is Cinder, the brother to Ella, who has been away somewhere for what seems like forever! Mommy says she is at a special place because she hasn’t been well. But that is too hard for me to understand.
I keep calling for her, but she doesn’t answer. I miss sleeping with her and her cleaning my fur. I miss playing with her, she is such a good paw hitter!
So what do I do, how do I stop missing my sister? My older brother Jingles is here and sometimes we play, but he’s not Ella. I know mommy and daddy feel really bad for me, they don’t like to see me so sad.
So mommy made a Facebook page for Ella and to share about the importance of rescuing and adopting cats from good places. Remember there are bad rescues and people out there!
In the mean time Here is the FB page for Ella and rescuing cats
Could you go and like it and share it for me.
Also if you haven’t done so already, could you please go and read up on Ella’s story and donate for her veterinary expenses please. Her link is http://www.gofundme.com/558d3o

Ella and Daddy, Nov. 8, 2013
This is my 2 year old Birman cat named Ella. Ella is a beautiful spirit, kind, loving and chatty (oh and let’s not forget a princess lol) Ella has been very sick and in the hospital since Wednesday Night due to a very bad infection, that is suspected to be kidney infection. I’ve been to see her a few times now and she is showing improvement with the re-hydration however Ella still needs everyone’s help. She is still not eating for them. Until she does, and until her lab work for her lymphocytes comes back, she is not able to come home.
I am reaching out to my friends, family and most importantly my community. I can’t do this alone, my baby, who I consider my own child, needs help. I am humbled by the support given thus far, and I truly appreciate all the shares that everyone has done. But I need donations, those funds will all go towards Ella and her care.
I have spoken to @Langley Animal Clinic and unfortunately you can’t donate to them over the phone, you have to go into their office with 3 pieces of information only I can give you. IF you are local and want to walk into their location to give a donation, please PM and I will give you those 3 pieces of information. You will only get a receipt if you pay by debit or credit, however, if you pay by cash, they aren’t able to provide you a receipt as it is under my name. I would be more than happy to scan and privately email you your copy of the invoice to reflect your payment.
I will continue with updates and photos so everyone can see how she is doing. Thank you for sharing, caring and donating ~
