We do, and her name is Lucy. Lucy is a rat terrier mix and is approximately 9 years old. I say approximately because she is a rescue and we can only go by the paperwork provided.
For a few months now Lucy goes through periods where she would pee our bed. We have flipped our mattress, used products to disinfect, numerous laundry washings etc. Nothing seemed to be helping.
We started to break down what she could be feeling threatened by. One thing that came to mind is that our 12 year old chi mix who we rescued a year ago, we have had to feed her in a different room because Lucy would bully her for her food. That place we feed her is in our bedroom.
The other thing we noticed is she dictates when she will go outside when it rains; then she won’t move if you go to walk. Last night I, with coaxing, was able to get her to walk to a building not far from our home that is grassy and she did her business. Then this morning, in the rain, again she wouldn’t walking willingly so I lifted her up and put her on the grass. She stood there and was prepared to not move, I had to coax her to do so, but she did go in the end.
So today is a new day, and we carry on, persistence is key.
It seems our stinker belle Lucy has decided that all sorts of household items for her to get into to!
First up Bird Suet! Oh yes she and her brother Blaze eat that while mommy was out and for 3 days there was poop evidence!
Second, a stuffed toy! Seems she desires to rip any toy til she can get to the stuffing. Mommy is going to look into sewing them up so they can still be used by Blaze and Tika.
Thirdly? well the joy of joy’s… waking up in the middle of the night to catching Lucy in a 10lb of flour!

So tell me, do any of YOU have a dog who gets into mischief like Lucy?
Ruff!! How are my fellow paw friends? Well life has been pretty good lately! Mama has been very busy and I know I have been going to new places to sniff and play with my brother Blaze as well as enjoying my raw food diet! We even got to try duck this past week! Oh my gosh it was good!
Mama did have a spell with me recently. It seems I get growly when anyone goes on the green belt across from our house. Even though it isn’t “mine” I feel like it is! Well recently, I got upset and mama and the neighbor looked like they were not saying some very nice words to one another. I got in trouble for not listening (I am not supposed to go anywhere without my leash) and so mama has said that Blaze and I are not allowed to go outside without our leash on. I sure hope mama doesn’t get in trouble with the people who look after the property where we live.
This morning we went for a nice early morning walk before the sunshine came out. Mama in her bare feet and jammies, with Blaze and I. We walked to the park across from the school near our house. Mama always lets us off our leash as she said it is safe there as it is all fences in. I love being able to run freely, I have noticed a dog on the other side of the fence, but he seems very shy. I’ve overheard mama say to daddy that she has wondered if the dog is ok, because he seems so frightened and looks underweight. I sure hope my fellow canine is ok and not in any harm. Mama gets very passionate about animals not be treated nicely.
Mama learned something about why I would go to the bathroom near the cat’s litter box. Seems I think of it as my own bathroom! Now I know I don’t mean to, but it does make sense, after all, I see the cats go in there and come out, there must be something I’m supposed to do! Mama says I go outside.
Well I know this isn’t much for a Sunday Chronicals but we thought we would share what’s going on so far!
Wags and Wiggles!
Today mama, and daddy (yay he’s finally home!!!) Blaze and myself are going across the border to help pick up some of my foster dog buddies! http://www.out-of-the-dog-house-rescue.com/
Every so often we help out by bringing over as many vetted, adopted and/or to be fostered dogs as we can, so that they don’t have to die. That’s how I met my mama! Sure we have our good days (mostly) and a few “trying” days, but we always work them out. I live with 3 cats and my “brother” Blaze, who can be a cranky pants (that’s what mama calls him *grins*), but he’s also pretty cool too.
Mama has been taking pictures of me again! She has one of me sleeping on my back, I look like I am suntanning lol!
Mama wants to upload this special sign she saw, it speaks volumes, we think!
Have a Paws-itively Awesome Day!
Wags and Wiggles!
Mama has been getting very stern with her voice at me, especially when I block Blaze from coming to sit on the bed or sit with mama. I know that mama is getting tired of me doing this constantly, but I don’t know what to do about it. I know I love her lots but I know she loves Blaze and the others a lot too. She has used a really big word…. Territorial. I guess that means I see mama as “my property”.
Last night when Blaze went to jump up on the bed, I crowded around him, and he growled and I growled. But Blaze wasn’t going to move from his spot and I certainly wasn’t going to either. Then mama stepped in between us and said in her loud voice ENOUGH! I stopped right away and looked up at her, Blaze stood in his spot and mama put him in his big kennel so that we couldn’t continue to be growling at one another. She didn’t pay any attention to me, she said that she didn’t want to give the impression that I was a “good girl” and Blaze was a “bad boy”. Mama has said that from here on in, I too will be going into my kennel (even though I hate that thing), when Blaze and I get into growling arguments; she said that she has lots of experience with Blaze’s sister Destiny fighting with their mama so she knows how quickly things can change.
Mama took me back to her special place, she says its where she feels close to her fur baby Rizzo, she says it is hard to believe he has been over at the Bridge for 6 months now. She says she feels closer to him when we go there. There’s also two big animals there, I’m not too sure about them, they kinda scare me. Mama says one of them is named Phoenix and the other horse I’m not sure. Today they were very playful and well I was just happy to be on the opposite side of the fence!
Mama always smiles when she sees me running free, my brother Blaze runs free to; its truly THE BEST feeling!! I’m still scared very easily, so I do stay close to mama. But mama always tells me to run fast, to go be happy, and before long I am gone like the wind! I start to run super fast and go around things sharply! I like to look like I am flying!!
Tonight, Jingles (the cat), Blaze, Cinder, Ella and I (Miss Lucy) all got to enjoy our raw dinner. Mama took pictures to show everyone how much we enjoy our raw diet.
Mama made a mistake “tsk tsk” and accidently put MY BLOG post on her grown up one, she says that you can read it here http://sexyonthedarkside.wordpress.com/2012/06/10/the-week-of-june-3-june-10-2012/
Now onto my new post!
After mama and our friend K spoke for awhile I was taken to the doctor’s office. Mama brought Blaze to keep me company. We saw a Dr. Sharma at his office http://ladnervet.ca/. I even walked in and didn’t try to run away! Trust my paws when I say that anytime mama takes me somewhere that isn’t like home, I don’t EVER want to go in. She says I’m askeerd *that’s dog speak for scared* of sounds too loud, places that I don’t know and people that are new. I always want to sit on my mama’s lap and put my paws on either side of her neck and my head under her chin. Mama always makes me feel so safe and she’s warm too!
So I met Dr. S, he is a soft spoken man. He was kind to me, but I was better so long as mama held me and talked to me softly. Doctor said that my incision line is infected from the inside out, so he gave me this shot that I did not like. Now I have to take some medicine that mama hides in my food.
I’m kinda sleepy so I’m going to go rest for now.
